Happy New Year, everyone! ZeroNyne here. Yes, I've been pretty much off this blog for about 9 months. Real life is hectic, and as is natural sometimes, the blog started to fall away. But no longer will this site be neglected! The goal is two posts (or more) per week. Since I don't really consider relinking or sharing someone else's blog as a post, I'll have my work cut out for me in the new year.

Batch Painted (Speed Painted) Plaguebearers

I'm on a roll these days getting back into the painting groove. I think it's because Daemons are so different from power armor and Nids. The multicolor scheme that I chose for Nurgle is not as cartoony as I thought, and I like the idea of allying CSM and Daemons...very fluffy.

So I had the presence of mind to document the batch painting of my plaguebearers. As usual, they aren't going to win a slayer sword, but they are definitely at least TT quality. Click any photo to enlarge.

Speed Painting Nurglings (+ a little ranting)

So much has happened in the last few weeks in terms of 40k, but the biggest personal impact has been the advent of Games Workshop's new codex release schedule and its digital/print disconnect. I am loose with WYSIWYG when it comes to an opponent. I'm not "THAT GUY" when it comes to playing against people with unpainted models. But I am a completist when it comes to core rules. I like to have all the rules handy.

The University of Chicago

I've been on a one month hiatus from the hobby due to work and family commitments as well as my perennial revamping of the home recording studio. In the meanwhile, several supplements have been released (Inquisition and Iron Hands) or are in the process of being released, and there are rumors of Nids and IG flying around. All exciting stuff. Being away for a while has helped me focus on what I need to do to really start enjoying eternal warfare. The first task is to finish my home table. In a previous post, I show the frame and boards.

If you play Warhammer, you have been touched by this man's work, energy and passion - his "Skirmish Wargames" was one of the inspirations for Necromunda and he invented the saving throw.

Whew! July went by without a post. I apologize for that, but real life is sometimes insistent on taking priority over 40k and blogging. And it's got to be some unwritten rule that staying away from a blog makes you stay away even more. But I'm back and have a lot to share.

Although July was fraught with danger chores and work responsibilities, it was not without its 40k-related activities. The big news in that regard is that my gaming board has been built. More after the jump.

Chapterhouse and Wargamma Defense Walls / Aegis Counts As

I saw this morning on Apocalypse 40k that  Chapterhouse, on the heels of the relatively advantageous (to them) court decision has initiated a Kickstarter for army-specific defense walls.

It's a clever idea for those who don't relish aquilas on their Eldar, Tau, or Ork wargear. It's also an idea that was implemented by others before this Kickstarter.
